bluesSHOUT! is all about inspiration . about finding something new, making it your own, and then sharing it.
Inspirational Music!
Blues clubs are alive and buzzing all over Chicago. We savor the dynamic
interaction between musicians and dancers. Now sit back and imagine
three delicious nights of live Chicago Blues. . . mmmm . . .tasty!
Inspirational Teachers!
The most inspired, the most fun, the most dedicated Blues instructors in
the country, giving their all to inspire their students . this is what
bluesSHOUT! does every year. This year classes will start later in the
day so you have more energy for social or competitive dancing at night.
Inspirational Dancing!
The best Blues dancers in the country put bluesSHOUT! at the top of
their To-Do list, and for good reason . the best instructors, the best
social dancers, the best music and the most amazing performances inspire
everyone to dance their best. Prelims and classes are during the day, so
at night you'll be able to dance yourself silly and then watch some
jaw-dropping contests and performances while you catch your breath at
breaks.
Inspirational Contests and Performances!
This is your turn to share your inspiration with all your fellow Blues
dancers. Work it, strut it, and shake that thang! Or if competing is not
your style, take a breather, sit back and watch your friends try their
hardest to school each other in the Blues.
Contests include Jack and Jill, Strictly: Jook Joint, Strictly: Ballroom Blues, and Solo Blues Cuttin' Contest. We're always exploring other contest possibilities, so stay tuned.
A variety of performances, including girl, guy, and partnered troupes; couple; and solo routines. We have opportunities for up to 4 choreographed performances at bluesSHOUT! Now is the time to start working on your routine! We'll be calling for official entries after the first of the year. (Those picked to perform will get Free Admission to the event.)
Get inspired! It's time to rock the dance floor in Sweet Home Chicago, where even the elevators play the Blues.
St. Louis is back on the map and taking things back to basics. No frills, just the good music, friendly faces, and hospitality St. Louis is known for.
We're starting the weekend off early, Thursday night, with a pub crawl in the best blues bars in St. Louis. Enjoy some good soul, listen to a few of our local bands, then wrap up at Beale on Broadway for a preview of the amazing Kim Massie.
We'll bring you some great music from DJs across the country without competitions or lessons. As the weekend goes on you'll see we've saved the best for last. An amazing dueling piano bar built for great sound with great food and even better drinks. We'll bring you the incredible Kim Massie, an exchange tradition and a St. Louis icon. Her voice will blow you away with soul that gives Aretha a run for her money. By the time you say goodbye you'll be calling St. Louis home.
