Friday Saturday and Sunday, April 17th-19th

Formally known as Floor of Dreams Lindy Exchange (FDLX), each April hundreds of dancers from all over the midwest come to the towns of Champaign and Urbana in central Illinois to enjoy nearly 24 hours of swing, lindy, blues, and more! This year, their exchange got a new name, has some amazing new venues, and will be one to remember! Check out the official site for registration info!

Hawkeye Swing Festival 4

April 17th-19th, 2009
Iowa City This year we will have 4 tracks of workshop classes including and Advanced (audition required) track! Live Music and some great competitions! Get your teams ready to battle it out for the Cutters Cup!

Bradley Swingers annual Spring Dance! Black and White Theme!

When? Sunday April 19th. Lessons: 7:00 - 7:30 pm, Open Dance: 8:00 - 11:00 pm
Where? Bradley University Student Center Ballroom!
Who? Live music with the fabulous Sally Weisenberg and the Famous Sidemen!
How? Dress to Impress in Black and White!
How Much? Students are free! Non Students: $5 singles and $8 couples

Upcoming Events

Spring Formal Dance Showcase

You've been taking dance lessons...
You've been practicing at home and at open dances...
And now it's your time to shine!!!

Body Fitness is hosting its second "Spring Formal Dance Showcase" where you have a chance to prepare and perform in front of everyone a dance routine to any rhythm you like.
The dance floor will be open for everyone between performances with music of different dance styles including Swing, Ballroom, Latin, International and Smooth Rhythms, Arabic, and more...
There will also be Hors d'oeuvres and desserts, performances by instructors at Body Fitness, and a Raffle for a "Cash Award" at 11pm.

Date: Saturday, April 25th
Time: 7PM 'til midnight
Cost: $8 Single / $12 Couple
Attire: Dress to impress!
Place: Body Fitness

All dance levels are welcome to participate.

- Please RSVP by Sunday April 19th if you are planning to perform.
- Include your name, partner's name, dance style, and if there is any time preference for your performance.
- All participants are required to provide their own music on a CD or an MP3 player. Songs must be under three minutes.

Fast Feet Weekender

Saturday and Sunday, April 25th and 26th:

Join the Chicago Scooterclub as the celebrate the quick footed styles of the 1920's and 1930's.
this weekend long workshop featuring Joel Plys (San Diego) and Lance Benishek (Minneapolis) will be a veritable feast of vintage styles.
2 tracks: Track Maxie (beginning/intermediate) and Track Frankie (intermediate/advanced) will ensure teaching levels that are a treat for all. All information is at The Galaxie.
