Join us Saturday, April 4th for a beginning Lindy workshop instructed by Paul and Tina from Forest City Swing in Rockford.
Workshop consists of basic lindy steps, swing-out, and basic moves. It will be basic, intended for our ISU students who have been dancing with us, however all swing dancers alike are invited, (UofI, Peoria, Bradley, IWU, WHEREVER). We ask that you have had prior experience in basic swing to help you learn the basics of Lindy hop. The workshop begins at 2:30 and will last until 5:30pm.
We WILL be charging a workshop admission of $5.00 that will go directly to Stepping Stones and Xi Gamma Iota charities. WHAT A DEAL! Most lindy workshops will cost you anywhere from $10-$20 and your $5 goes to charity!!
We ask politely that you consider the cause, the fun, and the dedication of those involved in the event when you RSVP, and since we would like to get an accurate estimate of those attending, please RSVP honestly :)
There will be an evening dance following, After learning lindy hop, grab some dinner and rest, because at 7:00pm we want you right back for an evening dance, where you can practice what you just learned! Please see ISU evening dance for details and RSVP!

Purdue Night Train Swing Dance Club is proud to put on LAFLX every year. With a bigger budget, a bigger mission statement, and a bigger purpose, LAFLX 2009 sets out to give Indiana its best and only Lindy Exchange of the year.
....We are proud to announce bands such as the Boilermaker Jazz Band, The Flat Cats, Duke and the Power Trio, and The Cashbox Kings. LAFLX 2009 also features such outstanding Lafayette Venue's such as the Purdue Memorial Union, Lafayette's Historic Lahr's Banquet Room, and the lovely Merou Grotto in West Lafayette. Night Train is also pleased to have guest DJ's from around the country visiting us during the weekend.
Formally known as Floor of Dreams Lindy Exchange (FDLX), each April hundreds of dancers from all over the midwest come to the towns of Champaign and Urbana in central Illinois to enjoy nearly 24 hours of swing, lindy, blues, and more! Join the Chicago Scooterclub as the celebrate the quick footed styles of the 1920's and 1930's.
this weekend long workshop featuring Joel Plys (San Diego) and Lance Benishek (Minneapolis) will be a veritable feast of vintage styles.
